Successful end of year 2020
The end of the year is a time for looking back to reflect and evaluate the results of our work and the success of our IT projects. We spoke to Branislav Beneš, Head of the Financial Information Systems division (FIS) at ARBES Technologies at the end of December to discuss how he views the last quarter of the year. Since November 2020, when he was named the Head of FIS, his main tasks include strategy planning and fulfillment of the division’s goals.
“The end of 2020 was filled with many projects and I would like to say a few words about several success stories that we at FIS have accomplished.
I would like to mention one of the key projects for the implementation of the ARBES AMS system to support trading on financial markets for a new client on the Czech market as one of the major successes. This project had very tight deadlines where we successfully implemented the first phase into the test environment 3 months after the contract was signed. This was the first large project for the newly formed AMS team in Prague in close collaboration with the FINAMIS team in Bratislava.
We received much positive feedback from clients once the SDAT product for the reporting segment was implemented. In competition with other IT companies, we were finally also asked to carry out reports at Amundi where we then successfully implemented our solution into the test environment as well as the production environment. We also delivered the latest versions of our current products here as well.
We also noted much success in the implementation of the IFRS 9 financial reporting standard including implementations into production and its subsequent acceptance. We also take care of Investment Limits and Online CashFlow for this important banking client. We decided to continue our collaboration next year as well. Our many successes also include the delivery and acceptance of the analysis as well as the execution of the first milestone of the CDS project for a banking client.
We implemented the SDAT-SFTR module for the Slovak Poštová Banka, we updated reports for the Slovak Central Bank (NBS) and we modified the interface for communication with the Slovak depository (CDS of SR).
Last but not least, I would like to mention the successful completion of the initial analysis of the ARBES AMS system at a stable security trader with a long history. We also signed two new contracts in Slovakia for this system to be implemented at a brokerage company and for a newly formed investment company.
In conclusion, I would like to thank all my colleagues from the FIS division for their hard work during the implementation of these projects and I look forward to the challenges that we will tackle together in 2021.”
