Bank
of Georgia
Project scope
The
Internet and Mobile Banking project scope for the
Bank of Georgia was to
create a universal
Internet banking system for multiple communication channels - Internet,
PDA, cell phone (the Java application), WAP and SMS. Users were to have
the possibility to use all the channels simultaneously. All major
products of the Bank of Georgia were to be available via the Internet.
Hardware code generators (Digipass) and system-generated SMS codes were
to be used for user authentication along with a static password. The
system was to be variable and easy to understand for both experienced
and inexperienced users.
Data from the
previous Internet banking system had to be migrated.
Connection
to the core banking system
The
selection for the solution was the
ARBES
OBS system which is directly
connected to the bank core system via a defined interface. The system
is capable of processing transactions even during periods when the core
banking system processes the end of day operations, a time during which
it does not accept new transactions. The system is also connected to
the payment card center and to a special payment portal with different
interfaces.
